Environmental Protection Authority NZ Updates

The New Zealand EPA released new rules!

The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) NZ released an updated Cosmetic Products Group Standard in January 2024 with new rules for updating:

  • Schedules 4 to 8
  • Rules for cosmetic ingredients
  • Rules for phasing out PFAS ingredients from cosmetic products

Any company, business, entity exporting finished cosmetic products or ingredients to New Zealand must meet the conditions of the Cosmetic Products Group Standard.

The Group Standard includes a list of substances that cannot be used, as well as rules around quantities, labelling, packaging and storage.
