Gilda joined the ASCC in 1987, which coincided with her first conference in Leura NSW. After that Conference, she knew she wanted to participate and be more involved in the running of the ASCC. Gilda first joined the NSW Chapter in 1988 as an active member, holding various positions including NSW Chairperson.

In 1996, she joined, with great excitement, the IFSCC Organising Committee for the Sydney Conference. A year after, she became a member of Council, holding various positions including Conference Organising Committee Chairperson. Gilda’s biggest ASCC highlight was her election as ASCC President in year 2000.

Gilda remains an ASCC Life Member. This award is not just a recognition of her remarkable contributions but also a testament to our commitment to diversity and inclusivity within our society.
